CCHL Recap | Lumber Kings and Wolves Win Sunday Afternoon

Ottawa, ON – It was the last day of regular season in the Central Canada Hockey League. The Pembroke Lumber Kings hosted the Ottawa Junior Senators, after 60 minutes the Lumber Kings won 4-3. The Renfrew Wolves traveled to see the Nepean Raiders where the Wolves took the game 5-2.

The game kicked off with Pembroke taking the lead in the 1st period, courtesy of goals from Jayson Alegria and Cam Hicklin, countered by William-Francisco Parent for Ottawa. The 2nd period saw no scoring, setting the stage for a tense 3rd period. Sutton Murray shined for Pembroke with two crucial goals, while Justin Murdoch and Jordan Graham scored for Ottawa, making it a nail-biting finish. Both goaltenders were stellar, with Ottawa’s Will Mizenko making 36 saves and Pembroke’s Kevin Jones stopping 25 shots.

F | Renfrew 5 Nepean 2

The 1st period saw Renfrew take an early lead with a goal from Kai Billey, but Nepean quickly responded with goals from Oliver Band and Curtiss Sturgeon. Renfrew dominated the 2nd period with goals from Ethan Smith and Henry Wilson, giving them a comfortable lead. In the 3rd period, Renfrew sealed the win with goals from Brody Simpson and Dane Carter. Both goaltenders put on a strong showing, with Renfrew’s Lincoln Mellenthin and Nepean’s Brady McEwan making 37 saves each.
